Don't Quit!

Don't Quit
- Unknown

When things go wrong as they sometimes will;
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill;
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you can never tell how close you are;
It may be near when it seems afar.
So, stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things go wrong that you mustn't quit.

So long as there is breath in me, that long will I persist. For now I know one of the greatest principles of success; If I persist long enough I will win. - Og mandino

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” - Winston Churchill

oh owh basah ...

I can't resist but to share this video of Juju saying a malay word. It's amazing how many malay words she picked-up when we were back in kampung for about3 1/2 weeks. Other than this word you hear on the video, she can say cicak (Lizard/gecko) - she pronounce it as sisak; sana (there), sini (here), sapu ubat (rub some medicine on spots bitten by mosquitoes) - she say it as sapubat, makan (eat), mi (noodle), and mana(where). I guess I just have to continue talking to her in Malay and Kadazan hoping that she will get as many words as possible in these two languages and be able to communicate in these two languages as well.

My kampung trip was all about spending time with family. I spent most of my time with my dad who is in the process of recovering from stroke he suffered 4 1/2 months ago. He goes for therapy 5 days a week (at the hospital and NASAM), traditional massage almost everyday, and taking some supplements to help him in the recovery process. I pray and hope that he will get stronger, and become more independent. I love you dad!

I am so sorry to some of my friends - Lyd, Trace, Rozz - to name a few, that I did not get the chance to meet. I only met a handful of my friends in between my busy schedule. I am sure we will the chance to meet the next time I go back (hopefully next year). (Lyd: minta ampun banyak2 kio that I did not call you again after sms-ing you)

Here are some pictures taken during my balik kampung trip. More pictures will be posted on FB. Enjoy the pictures and videos ;-)....

it's great to be back...in the Sun City.

It was a tiring and an exhausting trip, nevertheless had so much fun and adventure. I will blog and post pictures of my holidays, soon. For now, I need to get over with the jet-lag.

Dancing with the stars...

I have been watching this video over and over again. Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke, my favorite couple to win this competition, doing 1 of the 2 dances in the Dancing with the Stars semifinal. Here they are, shaking the salsa dance to the song titled, "I Know You Want Me".

Enjoy this video, and don't forget to watch my very own "star" doing her moves to the same song ;-)...

Happy Mother's Day

Received this bouquet of peach roses from hubby, and later tonight to a Japanese restaurant for dinner. To all momma's out there,

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Hello month of May...

It has been a while I have updated my blog. Mau dua bulan juga oh kan. Life has been really hectic. I am in the final week of the Spring semester and starting from next week I will be busy grading students' final projects. Mau termuntah-muntah la ni nanti baca final durang. A task that I don't really enjoy at all...

My data collection for my PhD. research is on-going, too. I'm in the final phase of it...I'm done with all class observations and I have 4 more post-interviews scheduled next week. I am not so looking forward to the data analysis phase that I should, and I must do over the summer.

Speaking about summer, a couple of travel plans in-store which I am so looking forward, too: 19 days in eastern Europe, 4 weeks in Penampang, and 6 days in Iowa. Hmmm...have to find time la in-between my travels for data analysis and writing. Paling susah mau buat anything di rumah when the little bugger, Juju, is constantly bugging you ;-)...

Juju is 20 months old now. Macam-macam la dia buat skarang ni: throwing tantrum dan yang sewaktu dengannya. Soon she will be 2 and I am already hearing the "terrible two" stories from my friends. Sya rasa dia suda pun in "terrible" phase now...I can't imagine kalau dia 2 yrs and starts talking back to me :))

Bah, ok la...i should hit the sack now. It's past midnight...

Enjoy some of my sumandak's recent pictures. I have a video of her dancing but I will upload that later....

momma...GAGA

I thought I should share this video with all of you.

I was chatting with my SIL, Osso on YahooIM when Juju who was on my lap pointed at Gaga's (Osso's son) on the Web cam:

Mommy: Yes, that is your cousin, Gaga.
Juju: Gaga Gaga Gaga

It was so funny and she surpirsed me for saying Gaga!...all this while when I show her Gaga's picture and saying this is Gaga, she can only point to Gaga's picture mumbling ;-).

So, her favorite word last night was GAGA, and she said it over and over again on the bed until she finally went to sleep....
